Virgill needs a challenge, it is his toast in the mornings, when he commits it's in with both feet, so much so he hunted down Freshline Bootcamp as a way to celebrate his 50th birthday. After graduating as an engineer, Virgil then promptly spent 13 years travelling the world, from his native Aotearoa/New Zealand to parts far and wide, having visited and often lived in over 50 different countries. Virgil is also an avid skier/snowboarder, hunter, an accomplished diver and sailor having crossed the Atlantic 4 times, the Pacific (Alaska to Australia) and competed in the world renown Sydney to Hobart yacht race multiple times.
Gifted his first dirt bike (Honda XL 100) at the tender age of 11, he's comfortable riding single track, gnarly twisties or just cruisin' over the horizon. As a leader Virgil likes a solid plan, but loves a detour more, cutting his own Freshline!
Never one to settle for ordinary, after stints working in the remote Australian outback, the Highlands of Papua New Guinea, he is current working on a rotational basis into Indonesia, where after work, life is about catch a few waves on a motorised 2-stroke surfboard before a quiet beer to watch the sunset. Virgil spends his off time back in Brisbane, Australia, with his wife, daughter and their two dogs, and of course a couple of motorbikes.
